Issue:
Some students don't see "Articles you can read right now" and/or "Top article ideas for you" when accessing Accelerated Reader. They may see some titles repeated in the list of "Articles you can read right now".
Reason:
Articles you can read right now
This section will show for:
-
Students whose Star ZPD score spans 3.6 or higher (approximately 310L or higher if you use Lexile ranges), if an AR Reading Range goal was not set with a range below 3.6.
-
Students that have not taken Star Reading tests and are in grade 3 or higher, if an AR Reading Range goal was not set with a range below 3.6.
-
Students with or without a Star Reading test that have an ATOS Reading Range goal that spans book level 3.6 or higher. Note the ATOS Reading Range goal will take precedence.
There is a small number of articles below book level 4.0. For students that do see Articles you can read right now, if there are not at least 5 articles that fall into a student's book level range, they will see some titles repeated in the list of "Articles you can read right now". By default, students in grade 3 (without a Star test or AR goal) will only see articles with a book level of 2.6 to 3.6, and there are currently just two articles that fall into this range.
Top Article Ideas For You
This section will show for students that see Articles you can read right now if there are more than 20 article titles that fall within the students book level range.
Resolution:
Regardless of their Star ZPD, grade level, or Reading Range goal, students are able to use the search to find article quizzes if they know the title. They can also click on "Help me find a book", then the Articles button, and sort the search results by Reading Level: Low to High. The Help pages at How Students Read Articles and Take Quizzes and How Students Find Ideas for Books and Articles to Read in Accelerated Reader include more detailed information about how students can find article quizzes.
