How to set learning standards
Who can do this with default user permissions?
District Level Administrators
Use the drop-down lists to choose the learning standards to use for Math, Reading (English), and Reading Spanish. You will be able to choose a standard from a list of alternatives, based on your state.
Important: Student assessments and assignments may be affected when the Learning Standards setting is edited after the school year has started.
Assignments related to the original learning standards may not be available after you make a change. Your Star test scores are also affected; if students have already tested in the school year before you change the Learning Standards, you will no longer see domain scores from those tests on Star Reports.
The best approach is to set the Learning Standards before the beginning of the school year and leave the settings as is until the school year is done. If you do change the setting during the school year, after making the change, consider retesting students in Star and printing new assignments for your students as needed.
Reading sets the standards for AR 360, Planner, Star Reading, Star Early Literacy, Star Custom, and Reading Reports/Dashboards, which include reporting on English Star results.
Math sets the standards for Accelerated Math Instructional Practice, Planner, Star Math (English and Spanish), Star Custom, and the Math Reports/Dashboard.
Reading Spanish sets the learning progression used for Spanish reading standards and skills and reporting on Star Reading Spanish and Star Early Literacy Spanish assessment results.
